COMMUNITY CONSULTATION

Why Be Involved?

If you want your ideas and views to be known in relation to the future management of the Bellinger and Kalang River estuaries, then you need to become involved in this study.

There are several ways that you may choose to become involved. The level of involvement that you choose to have is entirely at your discretion, however, the opportunities for the exchange of information and ideas increase the more you become involved.

How to be Involved?

Detailed below are some ways in which you may become involved:

Community Questionnaire

  • The community questionnaire was distributed in the local community in mid-2005. A summary of the findings has been prepared and is attached.

Workshops

  • Community workshops will be held in Bellingen and Urunga later in the study (date yet to be confirmed). These workshops will be used to gather additional input from the community in relation to the prioritisation of management actions for inclusion is the Estuary Management Study and Plan.
